Performance Analysis of Dual-Band Extended S-Shaped Microstrip Patch Antenna

- This paper presents an extended S shaped microstrip patch antenna, designed by cutting multiple notches in rectangular patch geometry. Our aim to design this structure is to develop an efficient antenna which can be operated in more than one frequency bands. The antenna structure presented is designed using IE3D simulation software. The simulated results show that the designed antenna can be operated in two different frequency bands with a good amount of bandwidth i.e. bandwidth of 5.09% at 1.02GHz frequency band and bandwidth of 27.39% at 2.15GHz frequency band. A maximum gain of 3.33dB is achieved at 2.52GHz frequency. The substrate material used for the designing purpose has a relative permittivity of 4.2 and loss tangent of 0.0013. The designed antenna fulfills our desired requirements of the antenna.
