Design and Implementation of Communication and Warning Sub-Systems of a Chemical Detector

Madhusudhan Palla; Haritha Tummala
Chemical Detector is an instrument which is used to detect chemical agents in the environment. It operates continuously in real-time environment. It provides an alert to the human by sounding of an alarm immediately upon detection of hazardous chemicals which causes harm to the human and also damage the environment. This is useful in military, civilian, agriculture, industrial and medical fields Chemical Detector mainly consists of detection, indication (also known as communication) and warning (also known as display) sub systems. The detection system is used to detect the presence of toxic chemicals. Upon the presence of harmful chemicals, the communication sub system is used to identify the type and amount of chemical present in the surrounding environment and the same will be communicated with warning sub system using RS-485 and GSM module. The warning sub system will give an alarm and displays the amount of chemical that has detected by the communication unit. The present paper discusses about hardware and software development of communication and display sub systems of a chemical detector and subsequently results are discussed.
