Metamaterial is human made structure to form for require characteristics of electromagnetic waves which are not available naturally. The Split ring resonator (SRR) is a basic unit of a metamaterial. SRR can be in different structured, basic SRR structure explained in this paper. Microstrip patch antenna (MPA) has low bandwidth and gain, focused on these drawbacks to improve gain, return loss, efficiency as well bandwidth of MPA used metamaterial in form of SRR
