A Thermodynamic Model of Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide Electrodes

A thermodynamic consistent model of lithium intercalation materials is developed and applied to a lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide (NMC) cathode. The model connects the open-circuit voltage of the working electrode versus lithium to the non-ideal activity of the intercalated lithium.
