- The requirement for portability has made low power usage a key factor in integrated circuit design. Low power circuits normally find use in both digital and analogue mobile systems. Non-mobile applications also prefer to have low voltage (LV) operation to eliminate instrument-cooling requirements. Lowering power supply is the most efficient method in reducing power dissipation of a chip. A current mirror for low voltage analog circuits is proposed. The current mirror operates at 1.0 V supply and having high input and output voltage swing capability. Mentor-Graphics simulation confirms the input current range of 1 μA to 50 μA with 2.5 GHz bandwidth for the proposed current mirror. Level shifting technique increases the input voltage swing capability and decreases the undesired offset current.
